X40 Garbled display - was Re: ThinkPad X40 (2371-H9U) - Atheros attach fails?

Yup, and also when switching from internal/external monitor (Fn+F7).
These are my current settings that work for me (5.3-stable,xorg 6.8.1)

/etc/X11/xorg.conf

Section "Device"
    Identifier  "i810"
    Driver      "i810"
    VideoRam    8196
    #Option      "NoAccel"
    #Option      "SWCursor"
    Option      "VBERestore" "no"
    Option      "DevicePresence" "yes"

S3 suspend/resume also work fine for me, I have an ongoing page for my
settings/notes that may help for other things:
