hostap on Proxim Harmony OEM

Hi
 try to set the proxim harmony card (WCLN2DU5055) as hostap on 5-Current 1003
 and keep getting device not configure  ,run wi0 -m 
 media autoselect mode autoselect media adhoc/monitor but no hostap ... ;(
 the firmware primary 0.3.0 station 0.8.0 . 
 should I update the firmware to 1.4.9 or 1.7.4
