FreeBSD laptop with: 56k modem, ethernet, Xfree86

Exactly what should I look for on the board?  This assumes that I can
figure out how to open the thing up. This is my third ThinkPad and the
first that I couldn't easily disassemble. (I'm probably missing
something trivial.)
