Position Title: Network Engineer

 

Location: Maryland

 

Position Summary:

 

Link Communication is an industry leader for mobile computers, mobile
communications routers, and mobile digital video recording systems for use
in law enforcement and mass transit applications.  We have an immediate need
for a Network engineer who is a self starter and would thrive in a fast past
entrepreneurial environment.

 

The Network Engineer will focus on maintain, configure and develop Link
Communication routers.  Assist other engineers over the phone and via email
in resolving complex implementation, operational or integration issues.   

 

Responsibilities:

 

*Configure routers for requesting of customers and different projects.

 

*Maintain the Link Communication routers.

 

*Modify and configure FreeBSD Kernel

 

* Work within product team to deliver high quality products to our customers
within cost and schedule constraints

 

* Interface with internal and external customers 

 

* Create and maintain design, testing and user documentation

 

Qualifications:

 

*Good network engineering knowledge, particularly with TCP/IP, Linux &
FreeBSD

 

*Expert-level knowledge of network devices

 

*Hands-on experience with various router equipment

 

*Good knowledge of DNS, VPN, DHCP and Firewall

 

*Familiarity with wireless LAN protocol (IEEE802.11)

 

*Familiarity with Windows network configurations

 

*Programming Perl or scripting language
