Popular photo sharing site seeks 2 senior level software engineers to join our
team. We have been online since 1998 and continue to grow.
This is an great opportunity to help develop and evolve a high traffic website
and participate across a wide range of development projects.
We are a small company with many perks, such as working from home, and a
chance to be creative.
We are seeking someone who is dedicated and interested in a LONG TERM job.
You must enjoy working for a smaller company that does not always follow a 9-5
time schedule.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with project and technical staff to define, estimate engineering
effort and implement new and evolutionary website features.
* Assist in improving and evolving back-end integration.
* Must be able to independently design, code and test major features, as well
as work jointly with other team members to deliver applications.
* Since we allow working from home, you must be self motivated and able to take
direction via Web Based Bug Tracking, IM, and phone.
Requirements:
* Strong verbal, written and analytical and technical skills.
* 5+ years software development experience (at least 2 years on UNIX platforms)
Extensive experience:
o Developing applications with a primary focus of the internet community
- Scalable internet infrastructures and large scale system design issues.
- Fault tolerant software
o Perl, PHP, datatabase interaction (PERL DBI), Apache, MySQL
o Managing a project base in excess of 50k lines of code.
Some experience with:
o XML, Java, FreeBSD, Subversion (or CVS) (We are almost fully FreeBSD based)
o Any Wireless Programming skills would be a nice bonus.
