Amazon.com is looking for a Manager of Weblab to deliver on the mission of making Amazon.com Earth's biggest laboratory.

Weblab is a mechanism for evaluating the effect of website changes on our customers through scientifically controlled experiments. Virtually every major change to the Amazon.com website uses this system as the primary means of measuring and ensuring success. This system and the results it provides to the business have significant visibility to the CEO and Senior Leadership.

The Manager of Weblab will be focussed on owning the roadmap, management, and delivery of the programs that allow Amazon.com and its partners to easily evaluate the customer and business impact of website changes. You will expand the scope of data sources and metrics to enable all components of our business to understand how their work impacts our customers. You will drive improvements in the quality of data and metrics collected throughout the business, and deliver new ways of analyzing and visualizing this data to improve strategic decision making across the company. We are looking for candidates who know how to deliver, are deeply technical, are highly innovative and are looking for the opportunity to lead a team building a massively scalable, high-performance data collection and analysis platform.

Strong technical credentials, with at least 5 years of software development management experience, ideally with a background in software development.
Deep knowledge of the collection and use of quantitative metrics for measuring business performance. Experience with statistical analysis strongly preferred.
A track record of communicating well with executives and non-technical leaders.
Operational support and passion, with experience in establishing, measuring, and meeting service level agreements, improving the availability, performance, and quality of systems, and managing complex on-the-fly operational concerns.
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science strongly preferred.
