FreeBSD Port: java/openjdk8 Porting JDK 8 to Minix 3

Hi:
I would like to port Java 8 to Minix 3.
I would like to ask you for advice: where can I find resources, gotchas,
or any other advice you think might be of use. Also, if you are aware of
an already ongoing, please let me know and I'll get in touch.
