Why are you unhappy? Just because one box says "load average 1.67" and
another says "load average 3.00" ? Or do you have direct evidence that the
network performance under FreeBSD is worse than under Linux?

Also, what pptp implementations did you use in both cases? That is, are you
comparing apples with apples?
