Hi,

the message indicates that you are trying to use the card for 
communication before loading the microcode. Please make sure that you 
have the following section in your /etc/isdn/isdnd.rc, before any entry 
sections:

controller
protocol=dss1
firmware=/path/to/firmware.b4

This makes isdnd load the firmware first. You can find the firmware 
file from AVM's website, or the CDs you got with your B1 (or T1) 
adapter.
