ipfw1 <-> ipfw2 compatibility?

It depends a lot on which rules you use.
You should really read the ipfw manpage in the section detailing
the differences between the two. There are ipfw1 bugs that ipfw2
has fixed, and possibly different bugs in ipfw2 that do not exist
in ipfw1.
