8-CURRENT snap for ia64?

Hi,

A friend of mine has tried to install FreeBSD/ia64 on a few of their HP
rx2660 (not tested yet)/rx6600/rx8600, but these was equipped with VGA.
 He tried to use console to install it but it seems to be "stalled" at
sysinstall's start menu, but all hardware seems to be probed and
working.  He also noticed that there is no 8-CURRENT snapshot for ia64
at this moment.

So:

 - Is there any plan to have a snapshot for 8-CURRENT anytime soon?
 - Is the sysinstall(8) behavior expected or is there any tricks/tips to
make it work?
