Installing FreeBSD 6.1 on a Montecito Machine

Hello,
I want to install FreeBSD on an machine with Montecito processors. 
So I installed a serial console and switched hw.uart.console to right port. 
After that I want to boot from CD and load the install program.

My problem is that the machine/output hangs after trying to mount root from 
ufs:/dev/md0.

Does anyone know where the error could be or what I've forgotten?!?
