rx2600 and 5.2 beta

I'm getting a rx2600 server soon (two weeks from now),
and would like to try 5.2 beta on it. Reading the
ia64-list indicates that this  may cause some
problems. One example is a USB-keyboard related issue
at

The suggested workaround is to use the serial console.
Does the speed default to 9600?

Do I grab a recent snapshot from ftp2.freebsd.org and
cvsup, or will 5.2 beta ISO's be available for ia64 in
the near future?
