The machine reboots (crash) during compilation of the kernel. I'm not 100 % sure but think this also happens if other software consumes a lot of cpu power. 
The hardware used:
- Abit iL-90MV with RAID 1
- T5600
- 2 GB Memory
- PCI Parallel Card NetMos NM 9735

I uncommented the line 'device puc' in the kernel configuration file. 

I was able to compile and install the kernel 1 time.
