Hi,
As the title suggests, i am having experiencing all these errors.
I just updated my source tree and rebuilt.
FreeBSD BlackBsd 5.2-CURRENT FreeBSD 5.2-CURRENT #0: Wed Dec 24 11:00:05
EST 2003 root at BlackBsd:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC i386
Now i am having the problem with PR 55473 i was also informed to try a
patch at http://www.FreeBSD.org/~jhb/patches/acpi_link_sta.patch
<http://www.FreeBSD.org/%7Ejhb/patches/acpi_link_sta.patch>
I did this and rebuilt the world, kernel and then installed both. After
i reboot, i booted up with acpi support. after login or anytime after
the kernel booted up if i pressed any of the mouse buttons the kernel
started spitting errors out at me:
Dec 24 13:55:25 BlackBsd kernel: psmintr: discard a byte (1) .
Dec 24 13:56:28 BlackBsd kernel: psmintr: out of sync (0000 != 0008) 8
cmds since last error.
Dec 24 13:56:30 BlackBsd kernel: psmintr: discard a byte (2).
Dec 24 13:56:48 BlackBsd kernel: psmintr: out of sync (0000 != 0008) 8
cmds since last error.
Dec 24 13:57:32 BlackBsd kernel: psmintr: re-enable the mouse.
Dec 24 13:57:32 BlackBsd kernel: psmintr: delay too long; resetting byte
count
Dec 24 13:57:32 BlackBsd last message repeated 2 times
These errors only occur when acpi is enabled, by selecting to boot
without acpi, the problems are not present.
and to top it off when acpi is enabled the mouse still blinks around.
The patch did not work for me.
anyone have any advice? i would like to have a functional mouse.
