I hope someone could help to advise what is the minimum set of directories to be mirror-ed in order to support network installation. Thanks a lot. Message-ID: <20081112071716.GA7629@fit.vutbr.cz> Hello, recent cvsup updates from ftp-master.freebsd.org end after relatively short time (at most ten minutes) with TreeList failed: Network write failure: Connection lost or Updater failed: Premature EOF from server Unfortunately, I see this behavior on ftp-master.eu.freebsd.org. Please, who of you use direct cvsup updates from ftp-master.freebsd.org, could you check if you see the same or different behavior? Isn't there some problem directly on ftp-master.freebsd.org? I did not do any recent changes on ftp-master.eu.freebsd.org. Sorry, I broke cvsupd. :-( The thought that I might break cvsupd did occur to me, and I did check an ftp.freebsd.org machine after uploading the 6.4-RC2 DVDs. But the one I wound up checking was the Danish half, and it turns out they apparently have switched to rsync. So I wound up not really checking what I had wanted to check. One of the DVD ISO files is a tiny bit bigger than 2Gb. And what I was worried might be the case is the case - the i386 version of cvsupd (at least, not sure about the amd64 version) uses 32-bits for file size. I compressed the amd64 DVD which got it down under the 2Gb mark. Tooth fairy has molested and left us in the field helpless. No new machine so far. I will give one more try, but I am not sure if it will work. I'm about to have a surgery within the 1st two month of 2009 or so, therefore I prefer to put down things until spring 2009, as I will need 1-2 months at least to recover. Niki is buried alive too, so don't expect miracles if they have not happened so far. If there is someone from Sofia, Bulgaria willing to invest some time and efforts to diagnose the machine, please contact us with Niki off or on list. If higher management of FreeBSD mirrors decides to remove bg.freebsd.orgfrom the list of mirrors and rollback the zone - that's ok. It's not fair to users having an non-existing machine as a mirror. When ready we will write back and the process for official mirror will be applied again. I prefer speaking the truth than sitting silent as some local trolls killed almost 90% of my desire to keep on with FreeBSD and i have my health as top priority to take care of. Thank you for your time and happy holidays.
