You can set that boot flag permanent in boot.conf(5) or loader.conf(5)
or device.hints(5) or compile a custom kernel without ACPI.

On a machine of that age, you can probably forget about a quirk and
focus on a local work-around.

     acpi_load
               Unset this to disable automatic loading of the ACPI
module.  See also hint.acpi.0.disabled in device.hints(5).
