Add

	hw.ata.wc=0

to /boot/loader.conf (assuming SATA or PATA drives) and reboot.

Add -U flag to newfs when making a new ffs.

Add a UPS to your power cord.

Mount filesystems read-only when possible. (e.g. /usr )
