Intel SE7501BR2 + 5.3B2 + PAE won't boot

Hi,
I left a message in current, but did not get a response. I assumed PAE with
FreeBSD 5 must be working with some hardware, so I must have some hardware
incompatibility issue.
The server is a Intel SE7501BR2 single Xeon 3.05Ghz 6G machine. I include
the dmesg below from a kernel that the only difference was:
#options PAE # Physical Address Extensions
Kernel
#makeoptions NO_MODULES=yes
It ran fine with 4.10 and 5.3 without PAE. With PAE, it hanged right after
the loader at the 'turning icon'. I tried without ACPI, safe mode, extra
log and the results were the same.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
