/lib/pthread.so.2 is sought during some port compilation

This is most likely your problem:

/usr/bin/ld: warning: libm.so.4, needed by /usr/local/lib/libicui18n.so.36, may
conflict with libm.so.5

Try "make delete-old-libs" from /usr/src.
