SMP initialisation changes 6.1-PRERELEASE and 6.1-RELEASE?

For reference, incase someone else has this, this was worked
around by removing the unused fxp driver from the kernel.

The only thing I can think of is that the kernel config for
the PRERELEASE was like this before as even reverting to
PRELREASE source failed to produce a stable kernel.
