webkit2-gtk3-2.26.2 also breaks eclipse-4.12_1  (empty javadoc hovers, etc.)

Downgrading to webkit2-gtk3-2.22.6 fixes javadoc for me.
(Eclipse internal web browser broken but not sure if that's related).
