Collation order change

Since I updated x11/mate to 1.18 recently, my collation order changed from
AaBa...Zz to A_Za-z. Is it possible to switch collation order back? I seem
to recall that one of the Gnome dependencies had an option for this, but I
don't recall which one it was.
