ports/141162: x11-toolkits/pango 1.26 introduces crashes with epiphany, firefox35, possibly others

You are correct, the problem seems to go away when I empty my ~/.fonts/.
Unfortunately I've been unable to isolate which font or fonts out of 1,093
are the problem.

How would I go about building a debugging pango? It doesn't have any port
options.
