gtk+ upgrade error

new installation of 6.0 ; I would like to update gtk-engine before I
install gimp and firefox. I don't want to use gnome- just some
applications that need the libraries/engine. Portugrade can't update
scrollkeeper and gnome-icon-theme as dependencies for some reason,
though... help?
