xscreensaver-gnome doesn't start?

Starting it from the command line got it working, starting from menu says
the daemon isn't running.  So I guess I just need to add a script somewhere
to autostart it when I log in?  Would that be /usr/local/etc/rc.d or is
there a better place for windowed apps?
