GDM wants this file to be less than 64 KB to avoid a potential DoS
attack.  If the file is too large, GDM will create a fallback file
instead, so this error really isn't too bad.  If you don't care about
your various display cookies, you could even remove the file, and have
GDM recreate it; or you can use xauth(1) to remove any stale cookies.
