There are a lot of breakage with the new glitz and cairo.

Not necessary.  The ports are done at
http://www.marcuscom.com:8080/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/ports, and will be
merged along with the rest of GNOME 2.12 after 6.0 is released.
