If you want to edit in global menu, then you have to get menu-editor run  
as in root. You can edit, delete, add and etc as in normal user without  
have to edit global menu. It's what it's supposed to be. I never have  
tried to edit, delete or whatever. All I did was run it to see if it  
works. ;-) You can check few more details:
