Yeah, I've never seen this, and no one else has reported it.  Are you
sure you updated everything, and nothing depends on old libraries?

Could be an issue with GTK+ 2.6.  I'd bring this up with the gqview

You need to be running gdm to get the shutdown/reboot options when
logging out in GNOME 2.10.

This is a known issue.  There are a few SMB regressions in GNOME 2.10.
Hopefully they will be fixed in a future release.
