I have tried the suggestion from Joe Clarke below and get the same error
message ...
Any help is appreciated ..

Remove /usr/ports/mail/evolution, then re-cvsup your ports tree. In the
future, use the freebsd-gnome mailing list instead of contacting me
directly.
