mozilla install on FreeBSD 5.3

I am running FreeBSD 5.3-RELEASE and am trying to install mozilla.
It went through the config dialog, and downloaded the files and began
to quietly churn around on the disk.  then it asked me which files it
should patch.  i killed it off, did a make clean, then a make install, and
it did it again:

phoenix# make install

If i just hit return, it says:

No file found--skip this patch? [n]

if i respond with 'n', it goes back to to the "File to patch: " prompt.  If i say
'y' to the skip question, i get:

Can't create modules/libpref/src/unix/unix.js.rej, output is in /tmp//patchrqJgNZ7: No such file or directory

If i try to do another make, i get similar results:

What does it want me to tell it when its asking me for what file to patch?  shouldn't it
already know what it has to patch?
