Can't create a launcher in Gnome2.4

Aha! Thanks Piero, this appears to have been the problem. I just deleted
the symlink Desktop and then moved .gnome-desktop to ~/Desktop and all
is well. Weird, I'm almost positive it was never a symlink in Gnome2.2
before I upgraded ?
