when i enter gnome, kde, or any other desktop environment, the mouse and screen are extremely large and i was wondering if i could get my screen area to be 800x600 or 1024x768. also, i would like to display it on the whole 17 inch monitor, only part of it is covered, the area by the sides of the monitor is black. (a display the size of a 15 inch monitor)
