unionfs and NFS?

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone is runnning unionfs with NFS, such that the NFS
(mounted read-only) is the "lower" layer, and writes go to the upper layer.

I'm also reading this in the mount_unionfs man page:

BUGS
THIS FILE SYSTEM TYPE IS NOT YET FULLY SUPPORTED (READ: IT DOESN'T
WORK)
AND USING IT MAY, IN FACT, DESTROY DATA ON YOUR SYSTEM. USE AT
YOUR OWN
RISK. BEWARE OF DOG. SLIPPERY WHEN WET. BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED.

This code also needs an owner in order to be less dangerous - serious
hackers can apply by sending mail to ⟨freebsd-fs at FreeBSD.org⟩ and
announcing their intent to take it over.

... is this still true?
