Just to be sure, did you re-build VirtualBox and, more importantly
virtualbox-ose-kmod on 9.0? Any
kernel modules installed from ports must be re-built after a major
kernel change and might need to be re-built after any new kernel is
installed. The nvidia-driver is especially sensitive.
