I've updated the default linux_base to v8. I've also added some missing but
requiered dependencies. I haven't changed anything else. Yes, the linux
infrastructure needs an overhault. I know about it. I'm willing to help
changing this.

Even if you aren't serious about this, I've thought about this (making
linux_base a meta-port with the possibility to depend on this meta-port).
