hint.apic.0.disabled disables APIC support (required for SMP), and 
hint.acpi.0.disabled disables ACPI support (does different things like power 
management, enumerate devices, etc.).  It can sometimes be helpful to disable 
either one or the other or both when having interrupt problems, however.
