Yes, they are all re-generated.  Mostly, it is described in
FREEBSD-upgrade file:

Basically, it goes something like this:

	cd ${SRCDIR}/secure/lib/libcrypto
	make -f Makefile.asm all
	mv *.[Ss] ${MACHINE_CPUARCH}
	make -f Makefile.asm clean
