[BETA2] Floppy drive no longer accessible

Hi guys,

I'm running 8.0-BETA2 (i386) and have some problems concerning my floppy
drive -- it's no longer accessible because there's no entry in /dev:

$ find /dev -name \*fd\*
/dev/fd
$

dmesg reports:
$ dmesg | grep fd
fdc1: <floppy drive controller> port 0x3f2-0x3f5,0x3f7 irq 6 drq 2 on acpi0
fdc1: [FILTER]
fdc0: No FDOUT register!

kern_open(c44a7240,bfbfd81b,0,a01,180,...) at kern_open+0x35
--- syscall (5, FreeBSD ELF32, open), eip = 0x33f8f203, esp =

$

Asking Google for help on this, I did only find threads dating back to
2004. It used to work perfectly fine with 7.2-STABLE, but that's not
much help now I guess ;-)

Any hints on this?
I think I'm going to upgrade to BETA4 -- it can only get better...

I'm happy to provide more information if needed.

Thanks for your help,
Philipp
