Since debugging this went offline, the quick summary for the list is: it looks
like a race condition in the read-write locking for tcbinfo in 8.x/9.x was
responsible, and I've now committed a fix to head and merged to stable/8 this
morning. If this recurs with the fix, please let me know, because that would
mean we fixed the wrong bug. :-)
