detaching usb device without unmounting it

actually i'm running current:

FreeBSD otaku 8.0-BETA1 FreeBSD 8.0-BETA1 #0 r195534: Fri Jul 10 11:52:48 CEST
2009     root at otaku:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/ARUNDEL  i386

updated my kernel sources a few hours ago. should i report this to the
freebsd-current@ list then?
