APIs change, bugs show up under new conditions etc. Dropping
unsupported code in the tree is referred to as a "drive-by commit" and
frequently leads to conflicts down the line. I think the appropriate
thing to do under the circumstances would be to make it a port. That
way it would be readily accessible to all, but we wouldn't necessarily
be held to the same standards.
