Yes, (signed char *) is more explicit.  Thanks, Tim.

When lulf committed the other fix, there was no note in the
commit message that it would be MFC'd.  If this would also require
approval from re@, could you ask for that at the same time as
this one, please.

That one was kern/128942 and the commit was fs/cd9660/cd9660_rrip.c
version 1.34.
