You should use real-mode BTX. It was committed to RELENG_7 at
revision 1.44.2.1 of
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/src/sys/boot/i386/btx/btx/btx.S
Don't know if you'll be able to use 7.1-BETA2 images, but probably yes:
they were created after the merge of real-mode BTX.
