Although I share this viewpoint, I really think that the "/etc/make.conf" /
"make update" mechanism should be documented in the handbook, now that FreeBSD
has an integraded csup.

Perhaps http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/synching.html
would be a good place?
