My work has 100+ systems in the server room at the office.  No huge 
bandwith bills, etc, as this is the QA and dev lab.  However, power and 
heat dissipation are huge issues for us.

So please do not think that these are issues just because you are not 
aware of colo providers that charge for power.  I know a number of 
companies who host server farms on their own presmises, not at colo 
facilities, who face challenges getting sufficient power and cooling for 
their systems.
