I sent this off privately, but perhaps a public statement would have been
better.

mutt, in its swiss-army ways, /does/ understand inline PGP.

Inline signing can be done via the PGP menu in the message details screen --
just hit 'i' for '(i)nline'.

Inline decryption/verification can be done by what I believe is the default
keystrokes of <esc>+p when viewing said encrypted/signed message.
