API to turn off the display

Hmm. Disabling ACPI and turning APM on doesn't make a difference (tried that 
some time ago).
I'll doublecheck my BIOS settings and otherwise turn on ACPI_DEBUG and 
concentrate on acpi_powerres.c:290.
