Well, the hard drive cable was the one that came in the motherboard box,
and certainly appears to be an 80 conductor cable. The drive is a WD
drive and when I bought it a couple years ago, it was sold as DMA66
capable.
Dmesg doesn't even report the mode of ad0 at boot time, just the ???.
